ANTT presents opportunities to Spanish companies in international webinar — Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres

Aiming at a closer relationship with the international market, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) held a webinar this Thursday morning (22/5) with Spanish companies operating in strategic sectors for land transport, infrastructure and logistics. The virtual meeting, mediated by the Embassy of Spain in Brazil, allowed the presentation of road and rail projects managed by ANTT, to publicize ongoing actions, new concessions and contractual optimizations, and attract investors.

The event was divided into two stages, in which the general characteristics of the road and railroad concession program were addressed, including the portfolio of current projects, plans for new concessions and contractual optimizations, and the details of the regulatory model implemented by the Agency, with risk mitigation measures and investment incentives.

The online meeting count on the participation of representatives of companies in the construction and engineering sectors, concessionaires, suppliers of technological solutions, supplies, equipment and components, as well as sector associations, logistics operators and representatives of international trade. At the end of the presentations, the participants were able to ask questions about the projects and the Agency’s work.

The General Director of ANTT, Guilherme Theo Sampaio, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “Spain is the 2nd largest investor in infrastructure in Brazil. This webinar presents regulatory advancement, in contract modeling, in economic modeling, with internal rates of return greater than 10%. The environment for investors is one of stability, security and predictability. The risk matrix shares the responsibility for geological risks, geotechnical risks, exchange rate variation, supplies variation, and other mechanisms. We are excited about the continuity of the partnerships.”

The representative of the Embassy of Spain, Manuel Casuso Romero, thanked ANTT for the initiative and referred to previous negotiations, when he suggested that ANTT present its regulatory model and the progress of current and future concessions to interested Spanish companies, which totaled 33 at this meeting. Romero also thanked the support of ICEX (Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade, part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Enterprise) in organizing the meeting.

The webinar was conducted by General Director, Guilherme Theo Sampaio, and featured a technical presentation by the Superintendent of Infrastructure Concession, Marcelo Fonseca and the moderation of the General Coordinator of International Affairs, Cálicles Manica.

The initiative reinforces ANTT’s commitment to the modernization of Brazilian infrastructure as a whole, connecting potential investors to land transport and logistics development projects in the country.
